Meet the Director

Callum Cryans is a Commercial Manager with over a decade of experience across contract negotiation, procurement, payment claims, variations, and project launch. He began his career as a qualified Quantity Surveyor working on building projects before moving to Australia, where he gained experience across major civil infrastructure including roads, tunnelling, rail, and water treatment. In May 2025, Callum founded CMC Contracts to bring a specialist, senior-level commercial management capability to civil infrastructure contractors, without the overhead of an in-house team.

Experience

Director — CMC Contracts (May 2025 – present)

Founded CMC Contracts to deliver specialist contract administration and commercial management for civil infrastructure contractors across Australia. Services include contract risk reviews, departure schedules, rights and obligations handbooks, procurement plans, payment claim management, and ongoing commercial support. Also developed CAAi, an AI-native platform that productises the same commercial management workflows.

Industry experience - Prior to May 2025

Prior to founding CMC Contracts in 2025, Callum built his career across major Tier 1 civil infrastructure projects throughout Australia. He made the move from South Africa in 2017, joining the NorthConnex tunnelling project in Sydney, one of Australia's most complex road infrastructure deliveries. From there he expanded his experience across roads, rail, building, and water infrastructure projects, working with leading Tier 1 contractors on projects of significant scale and complexity. His final role before establishing CMC Contracts was in Project Launch, where he was responsible for the commercial mobilisation of multi-billion dollar infrastructure projects across the country.
